Health Service Executive

The HSE has engaged development options for independent qualitative research and stakeholder consultation to inform services to people with disabilities. (Associate for HSE projects is Winifred Jeffers).


Center for Independent Living (Carmichael House)
development options has supported the Independent Living movement on a number of occasions, providing organisational development, strategic planning and research support services.

Power4Good

development options evaluated the Advanced Disability Equality Project (ADEPt) funded by Irish Aid and managed by ZAFOD, Zambia, and continues to offer ad hoc support to Power4Good as required.


Education Department, Maynooth
development options was commissioned by the Education Department to engage in Qualitative Research on Development Education in Secondary Schools in Ireland to inform the Post Graduate Teacher Training Programme. (the co-researcher for this project was Winifred Jeffers). Nuala Crowe Taft also provided Junior Research Consultancy for a UNESCO Literature Review on Teacher Attrition in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Kimmage Development Studies Centre

Nuala Crowe Taft (Director) has a long association with Kimmage Development Studies Centre and has been involved in piloting online courses, co-facilitating Leadership and Developing Groups modules with Frank Naughton, and is a registered associate of DTALK (Development Training and Learning at Kimmage).


South Dublin County Council
development options has a long established relationship with South Dublin County Council. This has involved Supporting and Developing the Disability Act Implementation Plan working with the Disability/Liaison Access Officer and the Disability Act inter-departmental implementation team. Nuala Crowe Taft (Director) developed a Toolkit for Councillors to assist them to disability proof their policies and actions and supported the establishment of a disability consultative group for South Dublin County.

National Advocacy Service Ireland
Nuala Crowe Taft (Director) supported several pilot disability advocacy projects and continues to support the implementation of the National Advocacy Strategy, offering facilitation for planning and development meetings, as required.

Disability Federation Ireland 


DFI has engaged the services of development options for project management, qualitative research and evaluation services related to mainstreaming of services and collaboration in disabilty sector.


Eastern European Aid and Development Network
Nuala Crowe Taft, working for DTALK, facilitated a series of network development workshops in 2010 to bring together Irish charities working in Eastern Europe, and to facilitate improved effectiveness, through communication and co-operation.  EEADN’s vision is for effective development co-operation between Ireland & Eastern Europe bringing lasting benefits to the region.  Nuala continues to support the network through DTALK.

Niche Disability Organisations


development options supports several niche voluntary disability organisations, by providing training, strategic planning, proposal development, research and evaluation services. Previous clients include Spina Bifida Ireland, Muscular Dystrophy Ireland, Friedreich’s Ataxia Society Ireland, the Irish Hard of Hearing Association, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and CASA.
